Employee News:

PahkalaDeploymentPhotoAES and the engineering department is getting ready to welcome back employee John Pahkala after his six month deployment.

For those who don’t know John, he has had a short but eventful few months after he joined AES. Not long after he graduated college, joined the Engineering Department, and celebrated starting a new life with his wife, John was deployed to serve overseas – one month in Qatar, one month in Kuwait, three in Afghanistan, and one month in Jordan. John is now back in Alaska and enjoying the unseasonable warm winter weather before returning to work in mid-March.

Please help us in welcoming John back after his successful deployment and thanking him for his service.

Don Gilhousen, Senior QA / QC Manager, has achieved another significant goal in the field of quality management by passing his HCPP evaluation. He is now licensed by the State of Alaska as a mechanical administrator for mechanical heating, cooling, and process piping (HCPP). This recent accomplishment is in addition to his other professional certifications as a welding inspector and ICC structural steel and welding special inspector. Please join AES and the Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Training Department in congratulating Don on his accomplishment!

Ervin Kallu Suvlu received his Class A CDL in October 2015 in Palmer. He currently works as a laborer for O&M 235 Well Testing. Way to go, Ervin!
