Mr. Smith has more than 20 years in the oil and gas and construction industries. He began his career in Alaska in 1992, serving in a variety of HSE, operations, business development, and senior management positions, while overseeing employees across the U.S., Canada, and Russia. Prior to AES, Mr. Smith was the president and CEO of both Little Red Services and ASRC Construction Holding Company. Mr. Smith became president and CEO of ASRC Energy Services in August 2016.
As President & CEO, he is dedicated to maintaining AES’ commitment to safety both on and off of the slope. He will continue to champion AES’ solution minded philosophy to provide productive and quality delivery of service and support to our clients. Formerly the president of the Alaska Support Industry Alliance, he continues to serve on the boards of the Alliance and the Resource Development Council. Additionally, he also serves on the boards of Special Olympics Alaska and the Kenai River Sportfishing Association.
Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Air Force from 1982 to 1992, during which he was assigned to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska. While on active duty he obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He is married to his wife of 33 years, Jana, and has a daughter, Alexandria.
