Alyeska Strategic Reconfiguration Project
AES Power, Pipeline, and Communications is providing services for the Trans Alaska Pipeline System as part of the strategic reconfiguration of pump stations 4 and 9. The project began in 2005 and is currently being executed on a fast-track basis. Total construction manhours are expected to exceed 800,000 when the project is completed in July 2007.

The project objectives include:
  • Minimizing the cost of transportation and extending the economic life of the Trans Alaska Pipeline System and North Slope oil fields
  • Constructing modular and scalable facilities to accommodate throughput variations more efficiently
  • Simplifying facilities, renewing assets, and automating using proven technology
  • Maintaining reliability, safety, and operational integrity
